Enirque NajeraMr. Najera teaches 9th grade AVID and coaches cross country and track and field. He believes that freshman year is extremely important because it sets up the foundation for students to have a successful high school career. We understand that transitioning from middle school to high school can be a challenging and intimidating experience. Therefore, our goal is to provide our freshman students with a comfortable and open environment, experience and community that allows them to learn the expectations, norms and rigors of high school, while also allowing them to be themselves. The best part of being an AVID freshman teacher is watching our students grow into strong and empowered young adults that want to continue their education and success in college and beyond. eddie larisEddie is in progress of attaining a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Long Beach. Since the begging of his schooling, he has demonstrated an inclination towards the S. T. E. M. field and a deep passion for the study of Mathematics. His interest in the pursuit of learning led him down a path of helping others with their studies. He began by tutoring his siblings as an adolescent, then his peers during high school, and finally a combination of students of all age groups now that he attends college. Although he is focused on math and science, he never turns down the opportunity to help answer a questions based on a subject he is not an expert on. He says this allows him not only help a student but also it also gives him a greater understanding of an unfamiliar topic. In addition, Eddie takes pride challenging himself to try new things ranging from new genres of music to unexplored territories during vacation.
