COMMON APPInterested in applying to private schools The Common App. is a great way to target multiple schools all at once. There are more than 700 schools registered under The Common App. with 49 U.S States, China, Canada, and Europe.

FINANCIAL AID
FAFSAFree money for college. As a senior you will fill out this form and will be awarded a certain grant for college. You will need your income tax information (if you work) and your guardian(s) income tax information as well.

CA.DREAM ACT APP. If you are undocumented and fulfill the AB540 requirements you are eligible for private scholarships through the California Dream Act, Financial Aid. This is not federal aid. This aid comes from the state of california and private doners.

WHAT IS AB540?On October 12, 2001, Governor Gray Davis signed into law Assembly Bill 540. This created a new exemption from the payment of non-resident tuition for certain non-resident students who have attended high school in California and received a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Entry Exams
COLLEGEBOARDMany colleges will ask for your SAT scores. Create an account on college-baord and register to take the Pre-SAT. You will get an idea of what the SAT is like and then you can register for the official SAT. Your school will always take your highest scores.

ACTIt is likely that your school will ask or recommend the ACT exam. Follow the guidelines on the website and register. The sooner the more prepared you will for when you apply for college your senior year.
